Content Writer, Sheffield

Making things with words

From Top Trumps cards to mobile gaming, my whole career has been spent making things with words. Across almost 15 years of content and copywriting, I’ve written about everything from presidents to pop stars, taking in wildlife, tech, education, sport and film along the way.

You can be sure that you’re getting much more than just words from me, though. I’m experienced in branding and marketing strategy across a range of print, digital and social platforms. I’ve owned content for Facebook pages with 20m fans, overseen a YouTube channel from inception to 1m subscribers, and helped companies and agencies totally revamp their public image.

I pride myself on delivering added value for my clients: quality, reliability and professionalism every step of the way.

The blurb

I’m an English Literature graduate and got my first taste of copywriting at Winning Moves, the creators of the Top Trumps card game and custodian for branded editions of Monopoly, Trivial Pursuit and other games. As a product developer, I was responsible for content on the cards, the packaging, the website… the works.  From there, I enjoyed several years with the mobile and browser games giant Miniclip, heading up their social media for chart-topping apps like 8 Ball Pool and Agar.io.

I’m delighted to bring my experiences into the freelance arena, and today I work with clients around the world across a diverse range of industries, from start-ups to global players.

The personal stuff

I’m Sheffield born-and-bred, and in 2017 created the first Sheffield United podcast, BladesPod – which has now grown to 200,000 annual listeners in 2019. I enjoy sports, gaming, coffee, singing stupid songs to my infant daughter and walking my lazy greyhound, when she’ll allow herself to be removed from the sofa.
